HTML or Hyper Text Markup Language is a programming language used for the creation of webpages. It can structure text in the page into lists, paragraphs etc. Texts can be made in differents sizes and colors. Password fields can be made. If you have a picture or video on your computer, that picture or video can be put onto the web page. If you are going to make a website, there is no way around learning html as you will need it.

To begin HTML, go into notepad if your are on windows or simple text if you are on a mac. The first lesson is just putting the foundation onto the webpage. First, you must type:
<html>

<head>
</head>

<body>
</body>

</html>

To create a title, in between <head> and </head>, type <title>"Your websites title"</title>

From here, everything should be written in the body section. To begin writing text, it is similiar to the title, except you write this part in the body section. Type <p> </p> for paragraph, and type whatever you want in between. You can make headings for each paragraph by using the tag <h1> and it goes up to <h6>. Italics are written using <em>. Breaks in lines are done with the tag <br />
It should now look like:

<html>

<head>
<title>My website</title>
</head>

<body>
<h1>vkjfgbdfkjbnlkdf</h1>
<p>dkjfbkdjsfgjknbjnv <br \> kjndf <em>bgdfkn </em> jknj</p>
</body>

</html>

Having only a white backround and text is a bit boring, now I will teach you to customize your page. To add backround color, use the tag <h2 style="background-color:#ff0000;">gdfdxfhbgfb</h2>, you can google the backround color codes since there are way to many. In some cases, you can just use the english word for the color like black, blue, green, or red. Look at this, <body style="background-color: red;">

You might add links to other websites, using the tag: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/">Here is a link to Youtube</a>.
Links can be made between 2 files, lets call them page.html and page2.html, the same code is used, except the link is replaced with the file's name.

If you have a video file on your computer, you can put it on your website using the tag <embed src="dfghngffd.mpeg"
autostart="false" /> This tag supports many different video formats, such as .mov, .mpeg, .mpeg, .avi.

To customize the page with pictures, use the tag <img src="flkenvlk.jpg" alt="fvfgfh" />
The name of the file and .jpg can be substituted for any pcture file name on your computer, and after alt=" " is used for a description of the picture.

When you are done making a website from this, the file is saved as the format, "all files" and give the file a name with the end being either, .htm or .html. This is the basics of html programming, and you probably know enough to now create a website.
